Adirondacks: APIPP
Upcoming Events | APIPP News | APIPP Reports
The Adirondack Park in upstate New York includes six million acres of public and private land incorporating large diverse landscapes, intact ecosystems, and high quality natural communities. These fragile interconnections of landscape, water, and the organisms they support are now threatened by the deleterious effects of nonnative, invasive plants and animals.
The Adirondack Park Invasive Plant Program (APIPP) is a cooperative effort initiated in 1998 among citizens and organizations of the Adirondacks. Our mission is to protect the Adirondack region from the negative impacts of nonnative invasive species. The program coordinates two projects: the
Aquatic Invasive Species Project and the
Terrestrial Invasive Species Project.
